A few years back, many people would have agreed that the proper sports car only had two doors. Fast forward to 2019 and you can kiss that statement goodbye. All the big dogs in the luxury sports car space have shifted their focus in creating four-door family sports sedans that wipe the floor with your boring conventional two-door sportster. What Mercedes started years ago with the CLS has now grown into a market of its own with BMW following suit with the M4/6 Grand Coupe and later Audi with the RS7. Even smaller economy cars such as the Honda Civic and Accord have taken on the “sportback” design with the elongated sleek C-pillars.
With the absence of the S4 wagon here in the states, Audi has blessed us with something slightly cooler than the wagon and introduced the S5 Sportback. The S5 boasts a respectable 350hp and 370ft-lb tq hitting 0-60 in 4.3 seconds.
With all the new tech and proper styling of the Sportback, it was only right to take the S5 to the next level. With the stunning Nardo Gray paint and black accents, the only viable option was to throw some gloss black wheels on. With the S5 being a performance based model, we had to give the Audi the top of the line offering from Blaque Diamond, the Flow Forged BD-F18.
We went with a 20×10 square set up wrapped in 235/25/20 tires. We opt’d to go with a thinner profile tire to offset the height of the car. With this current set up, there are no issues concerning rubbing or crabbing. Fully done up by out friends over at Service Tire Pro, the S5 is ready to hit streets and break necks.
